About:
IAEWP) is a not-for-profit, non-political, and a non-governmental organization geared towards the attainment of international understanding and world peace through education. IAEWP operates as an NGO under the mandate of the United Nations. We have more than 100 chapters established throughout the world.
In 1973, the Association became a non-governmental organization of both the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It also became a part of the United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI).
In 1990, we became officially linked with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Conference on Environmental Development (UNCED).
In 1987, the UN Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar, designated IAEWP as a Peace Messenger of the world on behalf of the UN General Assembly in recognition of significant contributions made to the program and objectives of the 1986 International Year of Peace.
IAEWP’s purpose is to contribute to the improvement of man’s ability to live at peace, to educate world citizens for peaceful co-existence and cooperation so that all people may have free access to the achievement of science and civilization. (full text).
