About: HISTORY: Black Women’s Network (BWN) was formed in March 1979 as the result of the energy of the Black women who attended a regional career conference in Los Angeles, California. Many of these women in attendance realized the potential strength that could be derived from creating a supportive organization that could serve as a vehicle for addressing the specific needs of professional Black women.
VISION:
- To serve as a communication vehicle linking Black females with each other for the purposes of resource sharing, career advancement, patronage of BWN businesses/services and networking;
- Aid in career strategizing via seminars, role models and mentor support;
- Assist networking by providing a monthly newsletter and a member Resource Directory;
- Support women in whatever endeavor they may undertake.
