There are many volunteer abroad organizations to pick and choose from so what makes Thai Mueang Volunteers different from other volunteer organizations, and what kind of volunteers are we looking for?
First of all we are looking for a working volunteer, one who wants to volunteer for the children at one of the schools in our program, one who wants to experience volunteer work through teaching English … (about 1/2).

About 2/2: … Volunteers for our schools do not need to be professional teachers to join, training in creating lesson plans and classroom management will be provided.
Come and join our ‘volunteer island’ here in Thai Mueang, away from the tourist areas and close to the Thai people, we also have our own special volunteer beach where you can enjoy the sun and go for a swim, the beach is 13 km long and you will have it almost to yourself.
Thai Mueang Volunteers works very closely with the schools, headmasters and teachers in Thai Muang, to make sure that their needs are being met and that they fully understand what to expect from volunteers.
The police, politicians and other important community members are all well informed about the work that TM-Volunteers is doing and everyone agrees that it is a beneficial addition to the community. We believe that close collaboration with the schools and community is essential to give the volunteers and students an optimized experience.
The most important aspect of our program is that we concentrate on a more personal relationship with the volunteers and students. TM-Volunteers is located in the same area where all volunteers are placed. We do not send volunteers all over the country where we can not provide them with adequate support. We are always available for assistance, should any issues arise with either the volunteers, or the schools. When volunteers are stressed, worried or unhappy with their situation, no one is going to get the best experience out of their stay in Thailand. We have lived in Thailand for many years, and want to help the volunteers work through some of the difficulties they might face by living and working in a totally new environment.
A happy volunteer means more responsive and productive students.
Lastly, remember that it is as much of a life learning experience for you, the volunteer, as it is for the children. The personal rewards you will receive from your volunteering time in Thailand are directly related to the amount of effort you put into it.
Key words: Creativity, imagination, energy, humor, enthusiasm, and a happy productive learning environment.
