Notre association a pour but d’effectuer des recherches sur les différentes mutilations d’enfants, considérées à la fois de façon historique et médicale, et d’en rendre publics les résultats. A cela s’ajoute l’étude des textes juridiques et de la jurisprudence réprimant de telles pratiques, tant en France qu’à l’étranger. L’A.M.E. peut également se porter partie civile devant les tribunaux, et aussi influencer des personnalités afin qu’elles condamnent publiquement la mutilation des enfants, tant opérée pour une prétendue raison médicale (circoncision de routine), que religieuse (telle l’excision).
