The SF day labor program is part of the San Francisco Bay Area Progressive Directory.
Formed in 1990 by a group of immigrant workers, together with community allies, who envisioned a space where laborers could unite to find temporary work to support themselves and their families. The program is committed to connecting workers to jobs with dignity, safety, and a just wage, and to providing employers with high-quality work performance. Contact the program during our business hours (7am-1pm, Mon-Fri, 7am-12pm Sat), at least one hour in advance, to hire one or more laborers for general and specialized work. Our Women’s Collective (which can be reached at the same number and requires one day’s advanced notice) can provide experienced domestic and office help. The program is a non-profit entity and the workers recieve 100% of all wages (webpage).
