Quand CCDH a été créée en 1969 aux Etats-Unis, le monde était largement ignorant de la nature, de l’importance et des effets des pratiques psychiatriques. Aucun contrôle ne s’exerçait alors sur celles-ci. C’était un monde dans lequel les millions de personnes souffrant de maladie mentale n’avaient aucune voix pour se faire entendre.
