Europa, Deutschland, Hessen und auch der Kreis Bergstrasse bilden hier keine Ausnahme. So werden in vielen Ländern – nicht nur in 28 afrikanischen, sondern u. a. auch im Nordirak, in Kurdistan, im Oman, Jemen, Indonesien, Mädchen zwischen Babyalter und Pubertät, bzw. spätestens vor der Heirat, an den Genitalien beschnitten und verstümmelt.
