K.C George, a diocesan priest from the Archdiocese of Imphal, who was convinced of the philosophy of community health and the practical approach of alternative systems of treatment in North East, was instrumental for conceiving the idea of NECHA in the North-East. In fact he is the founder father of NECHA. A team of nurse sisters was his support in the initial stages.

• Lobbying for the protection of the rights of street children;

• Providing basic services and developing alternatives;
• The Centre has created a network of programs aimed at supporting these children in the basic aspects of their lives.
