Women's Studies Programs

… Departments, & Research Centers (worldwide, but 2/3 in USA) … on one long page.

Please send corrections and additions to Joan Korenman.

Here are links to more than 900 women’s/gender/feminist studies programs, departments, and research centers around the world that have web sites. Programs and departments offering graduate degrees or concentrations have this fact noted in an annotation below the link. For a larger list of women’s studies programs, including those without web sites, see the very useful searchable page on the National Women’s Studies Association website (in cooperation with MS Magazine), the September issue of the Modern Language Association’s journal PMLA, or Gerri Gribi’s listing of Women’s Studies programs in the U.S. For information about institutions offering Women’s Studies graduate and undergraduate degrees online, see Online Degrees in Women’s Studies.

NOTE: After I had started putting this listing together, Kate Robinson told me about an annotated collection of links she has compiled of Women’s Studies programs in the United States. I’ve decided to leave my links up as well, especially since they include programs outside the US, and since I keep learning about new sites. (My listing now includes more than 900 links worldwide; I last updated it on August 7, 2009).

Also of interest may be Smith College’s Links to Graduate Programs in Women’s Studies, John Younger’s Programs in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, and Queer Studies at Universities in the USA and Canada, and the NWSA Guide to Graduate Work in Women’s / Gender Studies published by the National Women’s Studies Association.

IMPORTANT!: You are welcome to link to this document as long as you identify its title and author; the URL is http://userpages.umbc.edu/~korenman/wmst/programs.html . You are also welcome to tell other people about the document. However, PLEASE DO NOT REPRODUCE THE LISTINGS because the information goes out of date so quickly. If this page’s URL does not include umbc.edu or if the filename is not programs.html, you are probably reading an unauthorized, outdated copy. You can find the most up-to-date version at http://userpages.umbc.edu/~korenman/wmst/programs.html (actually this page). That URL may vary, but it will ALWAYS be from umbc.edu and end with the filename programs.html.
