About /what we do:  /Stronger Together: There are thousands of women’s organisations across the country working to support women and to achieve equality.

The Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) works to bring women’s organisations together, strengthening women’s networks and forums where they exist and nurturing new contacts and links.

Our events, training and conferences provide opportunities for women across the sector to meet, learn new skills and share ideas and experiences. Our magazines, newsletters and website highlight important issues and developments and contain vital resources for women’s organisations.

We work to identify areas of common ground and shared visions, to break down isolation and fragmentation in the sector, and to encourage peer support and self empowerment.

Making Waves:

  • The Women’s Resource Centre works collaboratively with women’s organisations and other groups to get a better deal for the women’s sector. Our why women? campaign has successfully raised the profile of women’s organisations and women’s issues. We work intensively to support marginalised parts of the sector and make sure the opinions and expertise of women’s organisations are heard and acknowledged by decision-makers.
  • We also help women’s organisations to lobby and campaign more effectively on a wide range of issues. We tailor our support according to your needs, but it can include facilitating meetings or networks, written resources and guides on hot topics, training on influencing policy and using the media and other consultancy support. We can help promote your campaigning efforts and co-ordinate responses to important consultations.
  • Women’s organisations work on important issues and have valuable contributions to make to policy and public debates.
  • We believe in strengthening women’s voices and working together to make waves and achieve our goals of equality and empowerment for all.

Building futures:

  • The Women’s Resource Centre supports women’s organisations to become stronger, resilient and more independent. In today’s challenging environment, our tailored training and support gives you the tools, skills and knowledge to ensure your organisation can face the future with confidence. As part of a network of women’s organisations, members of WRC benefit from each other’s experience and skills. Our events bring women together to share ideas and learn from each other. Our publications provide examples of best practice, as well as practical step by step guides and news about the latest developments and trends.
  • We have a new project for women’s organisations in London, providing workshops and one-to-one support to enable them to make the most of current and emerging funding opportunities.
  • We can help you engage positively with funders, form effective partnerships and plan for a sustainable future.
