About: The Baitul Salaam Residence for Abused and Neglected Women and Children.

Since November 1, 1999 the shelter program has housed 610 women and children from various parts of the US and four foreign countries (Pakistan, India, Egypt, Ghana and Tanzania). Through our outreach program we have assisted thousands with gas money and bus fare to look for work, referrals for medical assistance, housing, legal and many other services.

The URPP Foundations of Human Social Behavior, Altruism and Egoism

The Univesity of Zurich founded the Research Priority Program on the Foundation of Human Social Behavior in 2005.

This interdisciplinary program focuses on the investigation of human social behavior from the perspectives of neuroscience, economics, psychology, philosophy, and evolutionary anthropology (on wikipedia, on WILEY InterScience, on Max Planck Institute).

The main goal is to understand the factors which determine prosocial and antisocial behavior in humans.
