About 2/2: … History: The Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) was founded as a project of Douglass College in 1989 and is a unit of the Institute for Women’s Leadership (IWL)—a consortium of seven women’s programs at Rutgers University created to study and promote how and why women lead, and to develop programs that prepare women of all ages to lead effectively. The member units of IWL are: the Center for the American Woman and Politics (CAWP), the Center for Women and Work, the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL), Douglass Residential College, the Institute for Research on Women (IRW), the Institute for Women and Art (IWA), and the Women’s and Gender Studies Department.

Internal Deplacement Monitoring Centre iDMC

What we do: The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC), established in 1998 by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), is the leading international body monitoring conflict-induced internal displacement worldwide. About /What we do 2/2:
… At the request of the United Nations, the Geneva-based IDMC runs an online database providing comprehensive information and analysis on internal displacement in some 50 countries. Based on its monitoring and data collection activities, the Centre advocates for durable solutions to the plight of the internally displaced in line with international standards. The IDMC also carries out training activities to enhance the capacity of local actors to respond to the needs of internally displaced people (IDPs). In its work, the Centre cooperates with and provides support to local and national civil society initiatives.

The Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre KSCC

The Khalil Sakakini Cultural Centre Foundation is a non- governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of arts and culture in Palestine. The Sakakini Centre was founded in 1996, and is located in Ramallah in a restored traditional mansion. About /General Information: … KSCC was established in May 1996 as a branch of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture but functioned with programmatic independence; nonetheless, in 1997, it was decided to transform the status of the centre to a non-governmental institution (NGO) to allow it to achieve its mission and goals fully. As a result, KSCC was registered in the Ministry of Interior in May 1998 and obtained a tax-exempt status granted to non-profit organizations from the Palestinian Ministry of Finance; and in August 1998 KSCC signed an agreement with the Ministry of Culture, whereby the Sakakini’s building remains the property of the Ministry, while it is used rent-free by KSCC.
