Founded in 1968 CIAI – Italian Association for Aid to Children – has been fighting for the children of the whole world to be entitled the same rights: the first one, and the most important, is the right to grow within the love of a family, and where it is possible, to have permanence with a family of native origin.
CIAI put all its efforts into promoting a revolutionary idea for that period: to show how it was possible to give to a needy child, a family belonging to another culture and ethnic groups. To understand the power of the breaking-up of this approach toward the existing tradition, we have to think that in Italy there wasn’t, at that time, any law that regulated the adoption of a foreign child …  (full text english Homepage).

Catalysts for Social Action

Catalysts for Social Action (CSA), is a social welfare organization dedicated to the cause of child welfare. CSA focuses on Adoption, and Institutionalized-child care. Established in September 2002, our aim is to influence change in adoption practice. We work both, on enhancing the total number of adoptions and, better child care while the child is institutionalized. Centre for Indian Knowledge System CIKS

India is home to an incredible diversity of both wild and cultivated crops. Diversity is one of the main characteristics of nature and also the very basis of ecological stability. Diverse ecosystems give rise to diverse life forms and diverse cultures and this forms the basis of sustainability. With the advent of the green revolution, the emphasis has largely shifted to the increase in yield – as a consequence, a small number of seed varieties selected for their capacity to give high yields in response to the application of high doses of fertilizers are being promoted. This has seriously eroded the diversity of local varieties. This displacement has not only led to loss of diversity, but to several undesirable ecological consequences … (full text Biodiversity).
