Our story: Jerome Le Carrou founded Next Step Connections Ltd (NSC) with Leonard Hayashi (USA) and Francois Liot (France) in October 2007.
- We welcomed our first program participant at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai in January 2008. Originally from New York, this young and talented photojournalist applied for a three-month internship placement in Shanghai. We placed him at China’s premier newspaper: « China Daily ». http://europe.chinadaily.com.cn/
- In 2008, 30 interns and young professionals joined one of NSC’s various international internships in Shanghai, China. We are very proud to have welcomed students from highly-ranked universities such as Yale, Harvard or Berkeley during our very first months of existence. This gave us tremendous hope and strength to continue our work and grow the organisation.
- SInce then, NSC has grown at a very fast pace. In 2010, Next Step Connections launched international internship programs in Hong Kong and Beijing as well as the first ever High School Entrepreneur Program abroad for high-school students. By the end of 2010, 300 students and young professionals would have had participated in a program with Next Step Connections abroad.
- Next Step Connections chose India as its first international internship program destination outside China. Next Step Connections settled in mumbai and will be ready to offer international internships in India from 2011.

- At NSC, we take the time to give personal assistance and professional advice to each of our participants. We aim at providing a safe « home » at destination to ensure each of our participants make the most of its experience abroad.
Why naming our organisation Next Step Connections?
- Since its creation, Next Step Connections welcomed students from 25 countries including the United States, Canada, Peru, Venezuela, France, England, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Italy, Lituania, Russia, Poland, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Iran, Pakistan, Sudan, Nigeria and India.
- Our youngest participant was aged 15 and the oldest aged 45 years old.
- Like us, all of them realized they had a common goal: taking the next step and building global connections.
