About / Who we Are: The Naz Foundation (India) Trust (NI) is a New Delhi based NGO working on HIV/AIDS and Sexual Health since 1994. Through the years, Naz India has evolved and implemented a holistic approach to combat HIV, focusing on prevention as well as treatment. Our focus is on reaching out to marginalized populations infected and affected by HIV. We also aim to sensitize the community to the prevalence of HIV, as well as highlight issues related to Sexuality and Sexual Health:

(Published on Indian NGOs.com): The Naz Foundation (India) Trust, based in New Delhi, was established in 1994. Its primary objective has been to serve communities by responding to issued hitherto ignored, denied or inadequately addressed by the government , the public, the media and non governmental health and social welfare agencies. The problem of HIV/AIDS in India is one such issue to which Naz india has responded by evolving a set of programs that deal with the epidemic and its medical, epidemiological, social, and cultural ramifications.

Recognizing the urgent need for action, Naz India has designed a services delivery network that caters to prevention, awareness, and education on the one hand, and to care, support and therapy on the other. The issues of social injustice that HIV/AIDS draws attention to in the context of gender, sexual orientation, poverty, stigmatization and discrimination are being confronted by all of Naz India’s programs. A major focus of the strategy of the organization has been to explore sexual health and sexuality issues. Naz India is involved in raising consciousness on these issues, which is turn facilitates responsible and empowered decision making around sexual behaviour.
