About 2/2: e-International Relations (e-IR) is an online resource for students of international relations. Established in November 2007, and registered as a UK non-profit company in 2011, it is maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers, and is unaffiliated with any institution.
The objectives of e-IR are to:
- publish regular editorials and book reviews by students, leading academics and policy-makers;
- publish high-quality student essays;
- actively encourage the discussion and commentary of articles, editorials, essays and issues in international politics.
- Maintain a vibrant social media presence via our Facebook and Twitter community pages.
Pieces written for e-IR have been referenced and republished by organisations including the Wall Street Journal, World Politics Review, openDemocracy.net, Human Security Gateway and the Global Policy Forum. In addition, essays and editorials have been identified by publishers to be reprinted in edited volumes.
e-IR is recommended by universities on almost every continent (we haven’t reached Antarctica yet!) and received more than two and a half million hits in its first year. By December 2010 e-IR was regularly receiving more than 1.2 million hits a month. It is the world’s leading student-run website on international relations.
