- OUR MISSION: The mission of IAC is the promotion of gender equality and justice by eliminating harmful traditional practices, to enable African women to participate fully in the social, cultural and political development of their continent.

- Origin: The Inter-African Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of Women and Children (IAC) is an International non-governmental organization, created in February 1984, at a seminar in Dakar, Senegal. It started with 20 African countries.
