GAMS Belgium: GAMS Belgium was established in 1996. The group is made up of African and European men and women who campaign for the abolition of female genital mutilation.
GAMS was officially recognised in 1997 by the Inter African Committee for the fight against practices which affect the health of mother and child (CIAF) as the Belgian section of CIAF. GAMS Belgium is an active member of the European network against female genital mutilation (EuroNet-FGM).
Since 2008, GAMS has been coordinating concerted strategies in the fight against FGM.
The headquarters of GAMS Belgium is located at Rue Traversière, 125 in St-Josse Ten Noode. We are open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Board of Directors was elected for a two year period at the General Assembly held on June 26th 2010.
