About Equity and Diversity /What We Do:
- work with students and staff to promote and support equality of opportunity in education and employment at UWS
- provide advice, consultation and information on equity and diversity matters
- provide advice, consultation and information on harassment and discrimination
- oversee the University’s mediation processes
- develop programs to assist groups of people who have been traditionally under-represented in employment and education including women, people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, people with disabilities and people from non-English speaking backgrounds
- run training and education programs for managers and staff
- monitor and report to external agencies on the University’s progress in the equal opportunity area including responsibility for the Equal Employment Opportunity Report, the Disability Action Plan, the Ethnic Affairs Policy Statement and the Report to the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workforce Agency (opens in new window)
- contribute to UWS’s rating as EOWA Employer of Choice for Women (opens in new window).
