About 2/2 … /History: The Centre for Social Investment was founded on July 1st, 2006, as a central academic institution at the University of Heidelberg.
Prof. Dr. Helmut Anheier, the founder of the CSI, Dr. Volker Then and senior fellow Dr. Andreas Schröer have been members of the institute from the beginning. Since its foundation, the CSI has been growing rapidly and has become an important voice in the civil society debate.
Financing
Major grants for our work are contributed by the Manfred Lautenschläger Foundation, the Robert Bosch Foundation, the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, the Deutsche Bank Foundation, and the Hertie Foundation.
