Against Malaria

help fight Malaria – in many languages

  • Against Malaria is an initiative of the Against Malaria Foundation, a charity registered in the UK, US, Australia and a number of other countries.
  • The Foundation was set up in August 2004 with the explicit aim of handling the money raised through World Swim Against Malaria. Since then Against Malaria has launched a number of other initiatives and has developed a significant number of fundraising partnerships whereby groups raising funds for nets, often for their own distributions, raise funds through Against Malaria. We do not take a cut or a fee so 100% of the funds these groups raise buys nets for them.
  • As stated in the Articles of Association of the Foundation, the official document describing our purpose, our aims are:

Straight Statistics

  • We are a campaign (UK) established by journalists and statisticians to improve the understanding and use of statistics by government, politicians, companies, advertisers and the mass media. By exposing bad practice and rewarding good, we aim to restore public confidence in statistics.
  • Numbers shape the world. Twisting them for political, business or personal advantage is widespread – and often undetected. (Homepage).

13 Bankers (The Book)

… (The book) 13 Bankers describes the rise of concentrated financial power and the threat it poses to our economic well-being. Over the past three decades, a handful of banks became spectacularly large and profitable and used their power and prestige to reshape the political landscape. Critical Pedagogy on the Web

Linked with Freire Project.

This site has a dual focus, providing both a general overview of critical pedagogy–its definitions, history, key concepts, and major theorists–and links to other critical pedagogy resources on the web. It began as a final project for an independent study in educational theory in the Fall of 2002. It will be updated periodically, however, so feel free to send links, updates, and information regarding critical pedagogy resources on the web by e-mail … (about).
