Nijera Kori

Nijera Kori is a movement for awareness, from the individual to the collective, relating to life in deep perspective, encompassing all its social, economic and political aspects. It is an awareness of an individuals existence that remains dormant untill awakened by external pressures and forces. The pressures are those of poverty, exploitation and deprivation, of marginalisation and exclusion, of class and gender discrimination and the forces are those of protest, for assertion of rights and privileges, for equality and justice, to which they have a natural claim by law and social norm.

Foundation for Tolerance International FTI

The Foundation for Tolerance International FTI is a Kyrgyz NGO working to prevent conflict and promote peace and justice in Central Asia. For 10 years, FTI has managed a diverse portfolio of projects on conflict prevention and resolution, as well as community development and advocacy, primarily at the cross-border communities of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in the Ferghana valley. To date, FTI is gaining regional and international presence through its dynamic participation in global and regional network initiatives such as the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict.

To coordinate its communication, information and programmatic initiatives, FTI is seeking an innovator in the area of Conflict Prevention and Resolution. The key tasks will be to collect, produce, oversee and manage a wide array of relevant, timely information and analysis. This role supports FTI’s goal of promoting a culture of non-violence and tolerance, and preventing and resolving conflicts in Central Asia.

Sisters in Islam SIS is a group of Muslim professional women committed to promoting the rights of women within the framework of Islam. Our efforts to promote the rights of Muslim women are based on the principles of equality, justice and freedom enjoined by the Qur’an as made evident during our study of the holy text.

We uphold the revolutionary spirit of Islam, a religion which uplifted the status of women when it was revealed 1400 years ago. We believe that Islam does not endorse the oppression of women and denial of their basic rights of equality and human dignity.
