About: Peace Poles are four-sided pillars with the message « May Peace Prevail on Earth » inscribed on each side in a different language. There are more than 200,000 Peace Poles in 180 countries, serving as constant reminders to visualize and to pray for world peace.

Peace Poles can be planted at any place that people wish to dedicate to peace, such as town squares, universities and schools, parks, gardens and houses of worship. Political leaders and heads of international organizations, such as former UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Gali, and religious leaders, such as Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama, have also dedicated Peace Poles … (full text).

Welcome – The work of Jatun Sacha /CDC-Ecuador Alliance is to Promote the conservation of forest, aquatic, and mountain ecosystems of Ecuador. Jatun Sacha does this through technical training, scientific research, environmental education, natural resource management, and community development involving structural organization with local peoples.

Homepage in english: The Jatun Sacha Foundation was established in the Ecuadorian Amazon in 1985. The foundation is a nonprofit, private Ecuadorian, non-governmental organization dedicated to the conservation, investigation and management of ecologically important habitats, environmental education and community development. The principal lines of action of the organization are the conservation of eco-systems and cultural diversity through private reserves, environmental education, sustainable development projects and research that promote the improvement of the quality of life of the people living in the zones of influence of its activities.
