All Bengal Women's Union

Bengal Presidency Council of Women & the All Bengal Women’s Conference formed an independent organization for Suppression of Immoral Traffic. This society came into being as ALL BENGAL WOMEN’S UNION.

This welfare organization (ABWU) is giving free legal aid to the deserving and needy as per provisions of the Legal Services Authorities Act. The Legal Services Clinic, which is run every Saturday between 3 to 5 P.M., is approved by State Legal Services Authority West Bengal.

About: IT all started in the year 1932, when a group of courageous women in Bengal took up to helping the helpless, exploited and victimized fellow sisters, women and child trafficking had increased to an unprecedented extent. In between the two World Wars, the number of sailors and soldiers had considerably increased and flesh trade found a ready and expanding market in Kolkata.

Tell the World About Hunger!

We’re looking for any content – stories, poems, pictures, videos, music, graphics that let’s the world know that it’s time for child hunger to end.

Fight Hunger – Walk the World! is part of the UN World Food Programme working to end child hunger by 2015 which is part of the first Millennium Development Goal. All year round we build communities and partnerships both online and offline around the issue of child hunger. Every year we hold our annual global walk « Walk the World » to raise awareness and funds to end child hunger. Find out more about Walk the World and our other Campaigns to help feed hungry children all over the world.

Steering Group of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity VIPS

Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity VIPS (for VIPs, Very Important Persons) is a group of current and former officials of the United States Intelligence Community, including some from the Central Intelligence Agency CIA, the U.S. State Department’s Intelligence Bureau, and the Defense Intelligence Agency DIA.

This group issued a letter before the 2003 invasion of Iraq warning that there would potentially be numerous U.S. casualties if Iraq used chemical weapons during any « offensive aimed at getting rid of Saddam Hussein. »

This letter (on counterpunch, February 8, 2003) noted the various Gulf War-related illnesses which many returning soldiers contracted due to the presence of chemical and biological agents in Desert Storm.

The group was formed in January 2003 as a « coast-to-coast enterprise » to protest the use of faulty intelligence « upon which the US/UK invasion of Iraq was based » … (full text).

Link: Raymond (Ray) McGovern (born 1939) is a retired CIA officer turned political activist. McGovern was a Federal employee under seven U.S. presidents over 27 years, presenting the morning intelligence briefings at the White House for many of them.
