International Economic History Association IEHA

Welcome to the homepage of the International Economic History Association (IEHA)! The IEHA has been established in 1960, and unites economic historians from almost 40 countries in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Today the seat of the Associaction is Utrecht. The aims of the IEHA are to maintain and develop personal contacts between scholars interested in economic history and to encourage all forms of research and publications relevant to the development and diffusion of economic history. Every three or four years the IEHA organizes a World Economic History Congress. The association’s next congress will take place in Stellenbosch in 2012. (Homepage).

Taiwan International Workers' Association TIWA

The main goals of TIWA (the Taiwan International Workers’ Association)are to promote cooperation between migrant and local workers, to improve the working conditions and social environment for migrant workers in Taiwan, and to increase workers’ rights and benefits. Taiwan began implementing a guest worker program in 1989. There are currently over 300,000 migrant workers in Taiwan, mostly from the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Not only have they contributed their labor, but they have become a unique part of Taiwan’s vibrant society and cultural life. (About).
