Some 250 million people around the world were born untouchable. They live throughout South Asia, as well as in Japan and parts of West Africa. Over 160 million of them are in India, where they make up more than one-sixth of the population, and where over 580 million more people belong to other oppressed castes and tribes.

The purpose of this site is to share our ideas and research. Our perspective is Marxist. It will take a socialist revolution to create the material basis for abolishing the caste system. And only a party that openly fights against caste oppression can lead the workers of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka to power.

We are not that party, or any kind of organization.

This site is run by Sujatha and Alan. Sujatha grew up in an untouchable family in Andhra Pradesh.

Blogpac funds progressive leadership and experiments with injecting new voices in the political process using internet activism. We give grants, no strings attached, to activists on the internet who have a demonstrated record of success in either creating progressive change or creating the space for progressives to make change. We also seek moments to inject progressive power into the political system through focused internet and new media activism, (about 1/2).

Blogpac grants money to two sets of emerging leaders.

• 1) Activists who have created change outside of a traditional party or campaign structure.
• 2) Local bloggers that build community spaces for activists in their state.

Qui est PLANeS ?

• La Fondation PLANeS, créée en 2000, est une organisation à but non lucratif, indépendante de toute appartenance politique et confessionnelle. Elle succède à l’Association Suisse de Planning Familial et d’Education Sexuelle (ASPFES), fondée en 1993. PLANeS s’engage pour la promotion de la santé sexuelle et reproductive, ainsi que pour les droits de la population qui y sont liés.
• PLANeS est l’organisation faîtière suisse des centres de consultation en planning familial, grossesse et sexualité, des services d’éducation sexuelle et des associations professionnelles dans ces domaines. C’est une fondation, dans laquelle se trouve intégrée une association.
• PLANeS est le membre suisse de l’IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation), organisation mondiale non-gouvernementale de planning familial.
