2020 Vision and 2020 Vision Education Fund (find later on 2nd page of downloaded brochure* ):

  • are dedicated to solving global challenges where international security, energy and the environment come together. We see that today’s great global challenges are linked, and we strive to find overarching solutions.
  • Our commitment causes us to work in Congress, on college campuses and in communities across the country. Our 2006 PowerShift National Tour and National Summit on Energy Security focused on ending America’s dependence on foreign oil.
  • Together, we can create a safer, healthier future. Our commitment is to stopping global warming, stopping the next oil war and working for a smarter security policy. Join us! … (full long text who we are).

What You Can Do: Too often, we think of things we can do as voting, or calling an elected official, or going to a demonstration. And we need to do all of those things. But we can do so much more.

Reduce your energy use:

  • Our energy use has too many end results to count. Burning hydrocarbons leads to global warming. Our rapacious need for oil leads us to military adventure in the Persian Gulf. The money we ship overseas for energy undermines our economy. And the very air we breathe is fouled by the smell.
  • The number one step we can take to end this relentless cycle is to reduce our energy use. From buying hybrid cars to replace gas guzzlers to reducing our energy use through electrically efficient houses to trying to get to and from work without our cars, the choices are ours.

Talk to your friends and neighbors:

  • The most effective speaker is someone we trust. And nobody trusts us more than our friends, our relatives, our neighbors. Yet we don’t speak with them.
  • If you receive something from us, whether via email or on paper, take a moment to share it with a friend or family member. Raise the subject. You’d be surprised how many people you work with, live around and see every day are eager to get involved, but don’t know how.
  • Leaders aren’t born, and they aren’t made. Leaders are people who care enough to lead.

Enhance your political voice:

  • Our tips on enhancing your political voice will help you be a more effective political leader. These aren’t difficult, but they are important techniques that will help you change the world.
