STITCH was founded in 1994 when a group of North American women attended a Guatemalan labor conference, and were encouraged by their hosts to form a women’s solidarity network. The women felt that there was much to be learned by sharing Guatemalan and North American organizing experiences and strategies. After developing ties with Guatemalan and U.S. unions and women’s organizations, STITCH became an independent nonprofit organization in 1998 … (about /who we are 1/2).
