About: Migrant Helpline (MH) was established as a charity in 1963 by Helen Ellis MBE and was originally known as the Kent Committee for the Welfare of Migrants. ILPA now has around 1,000 members including lawyers, advice workers, academics and law students. ILPA is regularly consulted by the Government on key issues relating to immigration, refugee and nationality law.

ILPA is a company limited by guarantee and has an elected Executive Committee comprising a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, up to eight other Executive Committee Members and a nominated President.
