  • Since 1979, when one person, Peg English, put an advertisement in The Guardian asking to meet other mothers apart from their children in London, MATCH quickly became a self-help organisation, and informal groups sprang up all over the UK. The fourth largest of 42 tribes in Kenya, around two million in number, who live mainly in the Eastern Province of Kenya. This region, along with Ethiopia and Somalia, is one of the most arid parts of the world and it’s inhabitants are some of the poorest in Africa.
AAF has been working since 1999 among the Akamba in an area called the Mwingi District. Thanks to the wonderful support we get in the UK, we have been able to make the difference to their lives. However there is so much more to do … (full text Homepage).

British False Memory Society BFMS

False memory is the phenomenon in which a person is convinced a memory is true when it is not. It was first postulated and diagnosed more than 100 years ago. More recently, clinical evidence suggests it is more widespread than had previously been appreciated.
In particular, it is creating severe problems in the field of alleged sexual abuse. Naturally, the Society acknowledges and abhors the fact that there are many genuine cases of child abuse that may require the application of the criminal law … (about 1/2).
