Since it was founded in 1976, Facing History and Ourselves has grown from a single office in Brookline, Massachusetts, to an international organization with over 160 staff members in Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, London, Los Angeles, Memphis, New England, New York, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Toronto, and we work with educators across the United States by special arrangement. We have educational partnerships in a growing number of countries, including Northern Ireland, Israel, Rwanda, and South Africa. Facing History engages more than 1.8 million students annually through its network of 26,000 educators around the world and reaches the public and the broader educational market through community events and extensive online resources. Take Action Now: It’s amazing that humanity finally has an International Criminal Court (ICC) that can indict a sitting head of state, as ICC Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo recently did when he asked ICC judges to issue an arrest warrant for President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan, charging him with war crimes and genocide in Darfur.  Now let’s press our leaders to make sure that they cooperate with the ICC to fulfill its mandate to prosecute perpetrators of crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide.    Continuer la lecture de « IJCentral »

International Center for Transitional Justice Productions ICTJP

  • The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) assists countries pursuing accountability for past mass atrocity or human rights abuse. The Center works in societies emerging from repressive rule or armed conflict, as well as in established democracies where historical injustices or systemic abuse remain unresolved.

International Society for Human Rights

The International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) and its national branches are independent non-governmental human rights organisations (NGOs) which base their work on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights proclaimed by the United Nations on 10 December 1948. The ISHR seeks to promote international understanding and tolerance in all areas of culture and society. It is a non-profit organisation, independent of all political parties, governments or religious groups. It acts according to the philosophy that the realisation of human rights and the improvement of social conditions cannot be pursued by use of force.
