The Network of Organizations Working in Support of Orphans and Vulnerable was established in 1998 through technical, financial, and facilitation support from Pact-Ethiopia, the previously named Children and Youth Affairs Organization of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Jerusalem Children and Community Development Organization. The number of members has grown from 14 to 43 at present. The Network is legally registered by Federal Ministry of Justice … (About 1/2).

About 2/2: … MAJOR OBJECTIVES

1. To strengthen the efforts of the NGOs’ and Government Agencies who are working to provide services to orphans and other vulnerable children;

2. To pool resources to bring meaningful impact in program implementation;

3. To share experience among member organizations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of services provided to disadvantaged children as well as to provide viable alternatives to child support programs, and

4. To play an advocacy role to support a favorable policy environment for organizations working to support children.

The Aagosh-e-Noorani Foundation ANF

ANF is established as an independent, Non-Governmental Registered Organization to provide shelter and support to destitute children, who have been deprived of family. Foundation has a sharp focus, clearly defined objectives and a consistent approach to its work.  Our efforts are to provide food, shelter, education, heath care to the deprived and deserving people of Pakistan. Aagosh-e-Noorani Foundation had asquired 43 kanal piece of land to construct a state of art complex for the orphans and shelter less old age citizens. Our mission is to provide the family environment to fill the vacuum, which the destiny has brought in their lives. The complex will be consist of a well equipped library, play ground and all facilities to impart education of modern sciences and computer with offering food, dress and shelter to the homeless, deprived and neglected persons. Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation CAVR

The Timor-Leste Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation (CAVR – the Portuguese acronym) – was set up in 2001 and functioned from 2002 until its dissolution in December 2005. It was an independent, statutory authority led by seven East Timorese Commissioners and mandated by UNTAET Regulation 2001/10 to undertake truth seeking for the period 1974-1999, facilitate community reconciliation for less serious crimes, and report on its work and findings and make recommendations. Its 2,800 page report entitled ‘Chega!’ was presented to the President, Parliament and Government of Timor-Leste following its completion in October 2005. (Homepage).

Dissemination: As part of its mandate, the Post-CAVR Technical Secretariat has engaged in active dissemination of the CAVR report Chega! and other CAVR products. This dissemination has focussed on Timor-Leste but has also included some international outreach conducted in a number of countries mainly by civil society organisations in the UK, Indonesia and Australia.
