The National School of Drama is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and the only one of its kind in India. It was set up by Sangeet Natak Akademi in 1959 as one of its constituent units. In 1975, it became an independent entity and was registered as an autonomous organization under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, fully financed by Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Besides the training programme which is of 3 years duration, the School has explored new vistas in the areas of Children’s Theatre and decentralization of theatre training through workshops under the Extension Programme. Philosophy with Children is a movement that has been in existence more or less formally for as long as there have been adults who are interested in children’s ideas about the world, about themselves as human subjects, and about the fundamental issues-epistemological, ontological, aesthetic and ethical-which are the common heritage of us all. In addition to educators who were also writers-like Tolstoy or Bronson Alcott-who recorded and reflected on their conversations with children, there are no doubt countless unsung teachers and parents who have listened with a keen ear-sometimes philosophically trained and sometimes not-to their child interlocutors. The British poet William Wordsworth, in one of the most popular poems of the 19th century-« Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood »–characterized the young child as « best philosopher. »

The Main Goal: NACA is leading the fight against the bailout of lenders and investment bankers while advocating for real solutions for homeowners at risk of foreclosure. The focus is the outrageous $30 billion taxpayer bailout of JPMorgan/Chase’s takeover of Bear Stearns. On Wednesday March 26th, NACA organized more than 200 homeowners, many at risk of foreclosure, to storm the Bear Stearns corporate office in New York City. For over an hour we demonstrated inside their « home ». This is another non-violent « attack » as we bring the homeowner’s anger and frustration to the corporations and wealthy executives who created and profited from this mortgage crisis. A few press clippings are provided below: The campaign needs to continue. Please access the link to sign the petition to stop the bailout of these financial predators and to implement the Homeownership Stabilization Initiative for all owner-occupied non-investor homeowners:

1. Stop the resets
2. Reduce interest rates to the initial rate

Based on the analysis of the said legal system and in addition to the reality that the existing legal aid does not consider the issue of women as a significant human rights issue, Nursyahbani Katjasungkana, one of the founders and the director of APIK formulated a concept for legal aid called legal aid structural gender. By using the feminist legal theory approach (that includes unsure women as significant elements for legal changes) and in order to explain its objective as a tool for social transformation, its name was changed to gender and transformative legal aid.[4] Based on this concept, APIK formulated its mission to correct unjust gender relations that are the basis of the legal system and to eradicate structural poverty that imprisons the life of the majority of the Indonesian women.
