The Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies BIDS, or Bangladesh Unnayan Gabeshona Protishthan, is a multi-disciplinary organization which conducts policy oriented research on development issues mainly in the context of Bangladesh. It is mandated to function as an agency for undertaking and promoting study, research and dissemination of knowledge in the field of development economics, demography, and other social sciences related to planning for national development and social welfare to collect information and generate data; conduct investigations, and undertake research projects for purposes of planning and formulation of policies, and of implementation of plans and policies; and to provide information and offer advice on modern research techniques and methodology in economics, demography, and other social sciences.

ETAN is a U.S.-based grassroots organization working in solidarity with the peoples of East Timor and Indonesia. ETAN provides information about, and ways to help, East Timor, which was invaded and subjugated by U.S. ally Indonesia in 1975. East Timor chose independence in August 1999 and was soon destroyed by the Indonesian military. East Timor finally became independent on May 20, 2002. ETAN educates, organizes, and advocates for justice for historic and ongoing crimes against humanity, war crimes, and human rights violations in East Timor and Indonesia. ETAN supports democratic reconstruction of East Timor. ETAN supports restrictions on military assistance to Indonesia in order to support democracy and justice in both countries.

About: Representing international schools on the continent of Africa, AISA has a membership of schools which range in size from 20 to 3600 students.   • WIPO provides a range of services for the owners and users of intellectual property (IP).
  • These include international registration services, which enable applicants to seek protection for their patents, trademarks or designs in multiple countries by filing a single application. WIPO also maintains IP classification systems, which are used for registering IP and facilitate searches in IP databases and registries.
  • WIPO’s Arbitration and Mediation Center offers alternative dispute resolution services for private parties involved in international IP disputes. This includes Internet domain name dispute resolution for tackling cybersquatting.

What’s more, they often say, « I get at least as much out of the program as my student does. » Seeing a learner make progress brings genuine satisfaction, whether you are teaching reading and writing or survival English. One in five American adults struggles with everyday reading and writing according to the National Institute for Literacy Seventeen percent of the adults in Monroe County and 29% in the City of Rochester have skills at level 1 out of 5 – so low as to be considered « functionally illiterate ».
