The Bayti Association was created in 1995 by the pediatrician Dr. Najat M’Jid. « Bayti » means « my house » in Arabic. The association is mainly involved in helping street children and children who have been victims of sexual abuse.
Bayti seeks to give the hope of a better life to children whose only future was misery, clandestine emigration, prostitution, and other misfortunes.
With the help of a team of educators, social service specialists, medical doctors, and teachers, Bayti has established programs for these children specifically focused on social integration through schooling, individualized education workshops, and other avenues. (full text).
