(See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfwp.org\/un\/2005\/GirlsEducationMar05.html\">Girls Education<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The Forum on the Global Perspective to End Racial Discrimination in Commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was held on March 21, 2005 in Conference Room 4, UN HQ, New York and sponsored by the NGO Section of DESA (Department of Economic and Social Affairs) cosponsored and organized by Women\u2019s Federation for World Peace International (WFWPI) and WFWP-USA. (See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfwp.org\/un\/2005\/ForumEndRacialDiscrMar05.htm\">Forum 2005<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Role of Women in Eradication Poverty: The Women\u2019s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) is an NGO, founded in 1992 upon the motto, \u201cHumankind is a Family living in one Home, the Earth.\u201d\u00a0 Since 1994 it has dispatched volunteers worldwide, to implement development assistance projects aimed at \u201cfreedom from poverty\u201d, based on local needs. (See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfwp.org\/intl_projects\/reports2004\/IntlProjectsRpt04_WomanRole.html\">Poverty Eradication<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The Women\u2019s Federation for World Peace International, together with Women\u2019s Federation for World Peace, Japan, held their annual Women\u2019s Conference for Peace in the Middle East on May 16-19, 2005 in a tranquil and picturesque setting along the sea coast just outside of Athens, Greece. The issue of this year\u2019s conference was chosen in order to address the gaps between the goals and vision for the Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for our Children (2001-2010) and their implementation at this mid-term mark with hopes of reinvigorating the process. In attendance were thirty nine women leaders from 15 Middle Eastern countries and Palestine including ministers, congresswomen and experts in the fields of education, youth, development, human rights and law, government and non-governmental relations, com-munications and media, finance, health and environment.
