Shirya Bhat Missionary Hospital inaugurated, by Excelsior Correspondent<\/a>:
\nJAMMU, Mar 25, 2001: The first phase of Shirya Bhatt Missionary Hospital was inaugurated at a simple but impressive function held at Durga Nagar near here today by Dr K L Choudhary an eminent Physician of the state.
\nSpeaking on the occasion, he said the Shriya Bhatt Missionary Hospital is a part of the larger vision of Panun Kashmir to create a heritage centre in exile by Kashmiri Pandits.
\nHe said from the nucleus of this SBMH the mission has to create a well developed hospital with free treatment for patients.
\nHe emphasized on the need for this medical aid centre especially for the community who is suffering in sub human conditions in camps and non camps without any proper medical care.
\nTaking a dig at the State Government for its total apathy and neglect towards the exiled community, he said, that no worthwhile medical care has been provided by the Government for 3.5 lakh refugees who were driven from their homeland.
\nHe said the patients have to run from pillar to post for expert medical advise for investigations and for treatment to solve their problems.
\nDr Choudhary said to provide a succor to exiled community which is not in a position to bear the cost of treatment this multi speciality hospital is being raised to fill up the vacuum in medicare.
\nHe invoked the missionary spirit in doctors, civil servants, social activists and intellectuals to come forward and donate physically morally and financially for this humanitarian project.
\nHe said that initially the medical camps will be organised for the detection of common physical and mental disorders.
