We keep you updated here, and congratulate the whole Changemakers community for supporting these projects.\u00a0\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Seven Competition entrants share $10 Million:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) embraced Changemakers open-source process to find smaller, grassroots initiatives to invest in that aren\u2019t typically represented among the organization\u2019s grant proposals.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cChangemakers serves as an efficient and innovative \u201cscanner\u201d of what is happening with on the ground initiatives,\u201d said Yves Lesanfants of IDB\u2019s Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) Sustainable Tourism Cluster and an Ashoka Fellow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Changemakers Announces New Competitions at Clinton Global Initiative CGI:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Judith Rodin, President of the Rockefeller Foundation highlighted Ashoka&rsquo;s Changemakers, and our Tapping Local Innovation competition as a groundbreaking and \u201cterrific example\u201d of an effective process for sourcing and supporting innovation.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIt gives innovators a line of site where the \u2018white spaces\u2019 may be so that you can start working while the competition is going on,\u201d she told hundreds of world leaders and thinkers gathered at CGI. \u201cAnd it incents collaboration.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Major Growth for Competition Winner:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chetna Sinha\u2019s 2005 competition win prompted coverage from a local CNN station of her Mann Deshi Women\u2019s Bank. This led to first-time attention from large banks, including HSBC, that have since funded her organization\u2019s dramatic growth \u2013 and the start of a women\u2019s microfinance-based business school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Competition Win Garners Media Coverage and More:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2009 Geotourism winner Wikiloc, is a Spain-based, user-friendly website that allows local communities to share area geographic information with geo-savvy travelers.<\/li>\n<li>Since winning they have been featured in numerous Spanish newspapers and on television.
