Rosie\u2019s Place, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women, offers both emergency and long-term assistance to women who have nowhere else to turn.\u00a0 Established in 1974, Rosie\u2019s Place is committed to welcoming each guest with respect and unconditional love.\u00a0 Rosie\u2019s Place accepts no government funds, and relies instead on committed volunteers and private supporters to accomplish its effective and innovative work. About \/Fact Sheet<\/a>: Since 1974 poor and homeless women have found an oasis of hope and nourishment at Rosie\u2019s Place.\u00a0 The mission of Rosie\u2019s Place is to help women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives.<\/p>\n


\nMany of the women we assist are working and in housing but simply can\u2019t make ends meet.\u00a0 Some are newly homeless, while others women have been living on the streets for years.\u00a0 We serve women as young as 18 and as old as 80.\u00a0 Approximately one-third of our guests have children.\u00a0 Rosie’s Place serves guests from a wide variety of ethnic groups, with the majority being African American, Hispanic, Haitian, or White.\u00a0 Some of our guests are living with HIV\/AIDS or have hidden disabilities such as addiction or mental illnesses that prevent them from effectively integrating into society.<\/p>\n

With the help of people who believe change is possible and share our vision of justice, Rosie\u2019s Place has accomplished amazing things, both big and small.\u00a0 Each year:<\/p>\n
