Union of International Associations (UIA) is the world\u2019s oldest, biggest and most comprehensive source of information on global civil society. Databases and publications cover many aspects of international organizations \u2013 their history, organization and meetings, and the problems and methods with which they work [more]. The UIA was founded one hundred years ago, in 1907, by Henri La Fontaine (Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 1913), and Paul Otlet, a founding father of what is now called information science. It is a non-profit non-governmental organization registered under Belgian law as an AISBL. It has consultative status with ECOSOC<\/a> (since 1951) and UNESCO<\/a> (1952) … (full text<\/a>).<\/p>\n
