About sharing; Poverty causes the needless deaths of 50,000 people each day, and international aid continues to fail the poorest nations. Even if the Millennium Development Goal for halving extreme poverty is achieved, 900 million people will still be living on less than one dollar a day in 2015. Basic needs are not being secured for the majority world by neoliberal economics despite a 60 year old commitment to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies BIDS, or Bangladesh Unnayan Gabeshona Protishthan, is a multi-disciplinary organization which conducts policy oriented research on development issues mainly in the context of Bangladesh. It is mandated to function as an agency for undertaking and promoting study, research and dissemination of knowledge in the field of development economics, demography, and other social sciences related to planning for national development and social welfare to collect information and generate data; conduct investigations, and undertake research projects for purposes of planning and formulation of policies, and of implementation of plans and policies; and to provide information and offer advice on modern research techniques and methodology in economics, demography, and other social sciences.

Only national associations can become a member of EERA and, as a result, EERA is managed by their representatives in its Council. If you are member of a national association which is a member of EERA, you can claim the lower fee for the annual conference, the ECER (European Conference on Educational Research). About: EERA was founded in June 1994 as a result of discussions among many national educational research associations and several major research institutes throughout Europe, which identified the need for a European association which could foster the exchange of ideas amongst European researchers, promote collaboration in research, improve research quality and to be able to offer independent advice on educational research to European policy-makers, administrators and practitioners.
